These photographs reveal the environment in which my father and two brothers currently live. My mother's influence is noticeably absent within these spaces. My parents got divorced just before I graduated high school, while my brothers were in elementary school. I despised my father for mental abuse, constant criticism and unreasonable expectations and moved out soon after, so I never got to know my brothers very well. This series observes the physical peculiarities of the transformed home. It also represents my attempts at rebuilding my relationships with my father and two brothers.
A sense of emptiness still lurks around the home. I am interested in the voids within the space. I also want to examine the relationships between my father and two brothers, looking carefully to see if the distance I felt remains present between them. This is a search for time and place through an exploration of memory. It is also an attempt to find meaning in those memories.
